R-P-S Battle Royale

The winner of each round will be determined by winning 2-of-3 games. Players who lose each round will be eliminated from the brackets. Players who win each round will advance to the next round. At the time of semi-finals, the winner of each round will be determined by winning 3-of-5 games.

ROCK ⛰️

PAPER 📝

SCISSORS✂️

The Basics:
Rock beats Scissors
Scissors beats Paper
Paper beats Rock

The Rules: (All games must follow the same format to ensure fair play)

  • The countdown rhythm of “rock, paper, scissors, shoot” must be used for every game.

  • All players must start with one hand flat with the palm facing up and the signaling hand must strike the flat hand rhythmically to the countdown before signaling on “shoot”.

  • The signaling hand must be in the shape of a fist.

  • If players choose the same signal, the game is tied and will be replayed. This will not count against the 2/3 or 3/5 game count for each round.

  • If a player signals before “shoot” or after a significant delay, the game will be voided and replayed. Again, this will not count against the 2/3 or 3/5 game count for each round.

  • If a player’s signal is not obviously a “Rock”, “Paper”, or “Scissors” the game will be voided and replayed. This will not count against the 2/3 or 3/5 game count for each round.

  • The referee for each round will have full discretion over what is an acceptable signal.

Ready for round 2?! OtakuFest is back and will be hosting an Itasha Car Show right in front of the Miami Airport Convention Center.

Want to show off your amazing car and be a part of this incredible event? Sign up below!

What is Itasha?

It's the Japanese term for cars slathered in graphics of anime or video game characters and is basically a contraction of “itai jidosha” - literally “pain car” because of how painfully embarrassing they're viewed as being.

F.A.Q.

How do I get my car into the car show?
Fill out the applications form HERE. Approval e-mail will be sent out to confirmed applicants, the deadline is May 5.

How many cars will be allowed to participate in the car show?
At the moment, we are planning to have about 15 cars this year.

Are there any guidelines I will need to follow during the event?
The details of all the rules regarding parking, staging, exiting, and anything else will be sent out to the applicants who have their cars accepted.

What do I get for bringing my car to the event?
All approved participants will receive TWO (2) 3-day passes. (There is no monetary compensation.)

How long does my car have to be at the event?
Depending on each driver’s availability, all car show participants are expected to arrive an hour before the show starts on Saturday, and maintain their vehicle out front for a minimum of 6hrs. You may take your vehicle with you after the event.
